This week on American Idol we see the shift from the songs of the self proclaimed King of Pop to the songs of the members of the Grand Ole Opry. I couldn’t think of a much bigger contrast in styles of music.
I actually think it’s a little strange that we are seeing Idol pull out country so quickly. Maybe they’ve chosen country because Carrie Underwood has a new single to promote, and she is going to be on the results show tomorrow night along with Brad Paisley.
Aside from Michael Sarver, I don’t see any of the other contestants having much of a future in country music.
I made a prediction last week, and I was right about Jasmine Murray, and this week if I had to make a guess, I think Anoop Desai will be the next to go (I’ll make my prediction official tomorrow). There is just no way he is going to pull off country music, even if he is from North Carolina.
Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win a copy of Head Case: Season 1 on DVD.

I think Danny is one of the stronger contestants. I’m hoping he makes it to the top. And I have to agree with you that Anoop might fall out sooner than later. Love your blog!

I loved the top 5 American idol group medley last night. It was moving to see Aaron Kelly removed however I do believe the other singers were better hence he needed to go!

I understand American Idol winner Lee has just signed up to RCA records. Can’t wait to hear his upcoming album.

I really think Donald Trump would be a much better American Idol judge than Harry Connick Jr. – Trump is not at all afraid to express what he thinks and can be as controversial as Simon Cowell.
