The Unfiltered Ramblings of a DVR Addict

We’re less than a month now from the January 12, 2010, premiere of American Idol on Fox. Here’s what we know so far:

Judges: Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, Ellen DeGeneres* (*We’re sure you heard Ellen was replacing Paula Abdul this year, unless you’ve been living under a giant rock.)

Auditions: Auditions were held in June and July in Denver, Boston, Atlanta, Arlington(TX), Orlando, Chicago and Los Angeles. Call-backs were held in August and September. Guest judges for the call-backs included: Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Avril Lavigne, Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth.

Features: The Idol Gives Back extravaganza will be back this season April 21. Expect loads of celebrity cameos again.
